CODLOCKER

Cookie Policy

Last updated: August 2026

A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep, and read back later. This page covers every cookie that can end up on your device through CODLOCKER, who sets it and what it does.

CODLOCKER sets no cookies of its own. The site is static HTML served from GitHub Pages. There are no accounts, no logins, no shopping basket and no saved preferences, so there is nothing for a first-party cookie to hold. Nothing on this site tracks you between visits on our behalf.

Cookies from advertising

CODLOCKER carries advertising through Google AdSense, and that is where cookies on this site come from. Google and its advertising partners use cookies and similar technologies to:

  • count how many separate people saw an ad rather than how many times it loaded
  • stop the same ad repeating at you all day, which the industry calls frequency capping
  • record that a click led somewhere, so the advertiser is billed correctly
  • detect click fraud and invalid traffic
  • select ads based on your browsing across other sites, where you have allowed that

Only the last of those involves your browsing history, and it is the one you can switch off on its own. Google's own explanation of what its partners collect on sites like this is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Turning them off

Three different controls, with different effects.

Google's ad settings. Visiting myadcenter.google.com lets you turn off personalised advertising across everything Google serves, not just here. Ads keep appearing, they are simply chosen without reference to your browsing history.

Your browser. Every current browser can block or clear cookies, either for all sites or one at a time, usually under a Privacy or Site Settings menu. Blocking third-party cookies outright stops most ad cookies before they are written. It has no effect on this site working — nothing here depends on a cookie.

A consent prompt. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, Google shows a consent message before personalised advertising is used. Whatever you choose there is remembered and can be changed later through the same prompt.

Other requests your browser makes

Two more things load from outside this site, neither of which is a cookie but both of which are requests to another company's server, so they are worth naming.

Google Fonts. The typefaces used across CODLOCKER are fetched from Google's font servers when a page loads. That request carries your IP address, as any request to any server does. It sets no cookie.

Team and player images. These are served from this site's own domain, not a third party, so no additional request leaves for anyone else.

This site uses no analytics. There is no Google Analytics tag, no pixel, no heatmap tool and no A/B testing script. Traffic numbers, where we look at them at all, come from the hosting side rather than from anything running in your browser. If that ever changes, this page changes with it and the date at the top moves.

Questions about anything here can go to the contact page. Our handling of information generally is covered in the privacy policy.
