CDL Team FOV Rankings: What the Averages Leave Out

Paris Gentle Mates have the highest average FOV in the recorded BO7 sample at 103.4. Boston Breach have the lowest at 99.3. The difference is 4.1 degrees across the two ends of the team ranking.

That’s enough to produce a noticeable change in the view, but it also shows how closely these setups sit together. The team averages don’t spread across anything close to the full range available in the menu.

Beyond the ranking

Some of the more useful comparisons appear when you look past the order:

Cloud9 and Carolina both average 103.0, but their individual settings are distributed differently. Cloud9’s three recorded values stay between 101 and 105. Carolina’s stretch from 99 to 107. The same average describes one fairly close group and another with a much larger gap between players.

OpTic’s 100.0 average also hides some variation. The recorded profiles cover 98–103, so copying the team average wouldn’t reproduce every player’s view. It’s a summary of the group.

The wider picture

Across the full player sample, 100 remains the most common FOV, used by 18 of 45 players. The overall average is 101.2. Wider settings exist, but most of the records sit fairly close to that centre.

There also isn’t a strong relationship between higher sensitivity and higher FOV in this sample. Players above 1.70 sensitivity average about 101.8 FOV; those at or below 1.70 average about 100.9. That’s less than a degree of separation.

The ranking is useful for spotting differences, but choosing your own FOV calls for a closer look at individual setups and the fights you take. A team’s average can point you toward profiles to compare. It can’t tell you whether a distant target is clear enough on your screen.
